Question:- Am I eligible to be married in the Parish Church?
One of you will need to qualify
using one of the following five criteria:-

One of you, or your
parents, is resident in this parish, or on the electoral role, or
-
One of you was baptised or prepared for
confirmation in this parish, or
-
One of you, or your parents, has at any time lived in this parish for 6
months or more, or
-
One of you, or your parents has
attended one of our parish churches for 6 months, or
-
One of your parents or grandparents was
married in one of our parish churches.
Question:- Do I have to believe in
God?
You’re
welcome to marry in the Church of England whatever your beliefs, whether
or not you are christened and regardless of whether you go to church or
not. It’s your church, and we welcome you!

Question:-What if one of us is divorced?
We are permitted to remarry divorcees in many circumstances so
it may be worth your while enquiring further
Question:- What will it cost?
The fees for a church wedding in this parish for
2009 are £529.50 including the hire of an organist, a verger, and a
voluntary contribution towards the church of £150.00. Please contact the parish office on

There are also some optional extras like 'pew end flowers' and bell
ringing at two of our
churches. The fees are usually increased in line with inflation
each year.

occasionally hold a weddings information day when you can just turn up
to enquire about weddings - ask the parish administrator for the next
